Assigning ingredients to steps
Split a recipe into steps and assign ingredients to them — whole or in parts. A bar shows how much of each ingredient is already allocated.
When ingredients are assigned to steps, cooking mode shows each step with only what you need right then.
Adding steps
- In the recipe form, open Steps.
- Tap Add step (in an empty recipe: Add the first step).
- Optionally give the step a name, e.g. “Cheese mixture”.
- Type the step in the Instructions box.
Delete a step with Remove step.
Ingredients in a step
On the phone:
- In the step, tap Add ingredient.
- In the Add ingredient to step window, pick an ingredient. Each one shows its total and how much is still available — not yet assigned.
- Enter an amount, or tap Max to add everything that’s left.
- Confirm with Add ingredient.
In the browser, each step has an Assign button that opens the same window.
You can split one ingredient across several steps — say 100 g of sugar for the batter and 50 g for the cream. Przepisnik won’t let you assign more than the recipe has (“Only … available”).
What’s left?
In the ingredient list, a coloured bar next to each ingredient shows how much of it is already in steps, and ingredients that aren’t in any step are marked as unused. In the browser, below the steps there’s also an Ingredient status table with “used / total” amounts.
Equipment in a step
Under the step text you can tick What you use in this step — the oven, a mixer, a springform tin. In cooking mode it shows as Equipment for this step.
