The glossary in recipes

Technical words in recipe steps are underlined. Tap one and the Guide explains what it means.

“Blanch”, “temper”, “caramelise” — not every recipe explains words like these. Przepisnik does it for you.

How it works

Some words in the step text are underlined. They’re entries from the Guide — a kitchen cheat sheet of methods, techniques, equipment and substitutes.

  1. Open a recipe.
  2. In the steps, tap (in the browser, click) an underlined word.
  3. A short definition opens.
  4. Want more? Choose Open in Guide to read the full entry — with At a glance, Step by step, a Tip and See also entries.

Words are recognised in their different forms — “caramelised” finds the “caramelise” entry.

Where it works

  • in the recipe view — on the phone and in the browser,
  • in cooking mode — in the mobile app.

The Guide on its own

You can open the Guide without a recipe too:

  • on the phone from the bottom bar or from More → Guide (depending on what you’ve pinned to the bar),
  • in the browser from the side menu.

At the top there’s a Search the guide box, and entries are grouped into Basics, Methods, Techniques, Substitutions and Tools. The Guide is in Polish and English — following the app language — and works offline too.
