Household members and allergies
Record who you cook for — allergies, what someone doesn't eat and the portion they have. Recipes and the plan warn you by name, and portions add up on their own.
Household member profiles are on the Family plan. Allergen warnings in recipes themselves work on every plan.
Add a person
- On the phone open More → Family, in the browser Settings → Family.
- Choose Add a person.
- Fill in:
- Name,
- Adult or child,
- Allergies — tick allergens from the list (e.g. gluten, tree nuts, celery),
- Doesn’t eat — things this person avoids, separated by commas, e.g. “mushrooms, peppers”,
- Portion — e.g. 0.5× for a small child, 1.5× for a teenager,
- Work lunchbox — whether to show this person in the lunchbox plan (children are always in it).
- Save.
Under the list you’ll see a total, e.g. “Total: 3 portions per meal”.
Warnings with a name
When a recipe contains an allergen of someone in the household, you’ll see a warning with their name, e.g. “contains tree nuts — Zosia”, in the recipe and next to the meal in the plan. Things from Doesn’t eat give a warning like “… — Zosia doesn’t eat it”.
Allergens are worked out from ingredients linked to the library. If not every ingredient was recognised, the recipe tells you. Always check product labels.
Who eats it?
In the Meal planner, tap a meal and under Who eats it tick the people — portions work themselves out. “Nobody picked — counting everyone.”
Lunchboxes
In the meal planner, open Lunchboxes. For each person you pick recipes for the coming days, or tap Fill the week. We only suggest recipes without that person’s allergens and the things they don’t eat.
Without the Family plan
Anyone can filter the recipe list with Exclude allergens under Filters and sorting, and every recipe has an Allergens section split into Contains and May contain.
