Leftovers and prepping ahead

Goulash for two days shows up in the plan as leftovers, and a marinade or a sponge for the day before lands in the plan on the right day.

Leftovers

When you cook more than you’ll eat in one day, the plan adds the leftovers to the following days for you.

  1. Make sure the recipe has Portions filled in.
  2. Add it to the plan.
  3. If it lasts longer, you’ll see a message like “Enough for 2 days — leftovers added through …”. You can Undo it.
  4. The next day the meal shows as Leftovers.

How many people usually eat comes from the Default people setting (on the phone More → Family, in the browser Settings → Family) — “The plan uses it to work out how many days a recipe lasts.” Once you add household members on the Family plan, their portions are used instead.

For a single meal, change it in its details: Cook (how much of the recipe you cook) and Eat on (which days).

When removing leftovers you choose: From this day on or The whole dish.

Prepping ahead

Some recipes need to start the day before — a marinade, an overnight dough, soaking beans.

  1. In the recipe form, fill in Waiting time (marinating, rising, chilling). The Overnight and A day buttons enter typical values.
  2. Add the recipe to the plan.
  3. If there’s a lot of waiting, Przepisnik asks whether to add the prep to an earlier day — choose Add or Not now.
  4. An entry marked Prep appears in the plan.

When to start?

If you set Meal times (on the phone More → Reminders, in the browser Settings → Appearance), the plan suggests next to a meal, e.g. “start at 17:15”. In the mobile app you can also turn on the Time to start cooking reminder.
