The baking plan

The cake planner is on the Plus plan.

A sponge is best baked the day before, and the cream made just before assembling. The baking plan lays it all out for you.

Set the date

1. Open the cake in the planner.
2. Tap When for?.
3. In When is the cake for?, pick a Date and a Time.
4. Save. Remove the date with Clear date.

Open the plan

Tap Baking plan. The steps are grouped by day — e.g. “2 days before”, The day before, On the day:

• Bake: … — with how much of the recipe to bake and how many tiers to cut it into,
• Prepare: … — creams, jellies, inserts,
• Assemble the cake,
• Apply: … — glaze or coating,
• Decorate the cake.

Some steps carry a hint, e.g. Let it cool overnight.

Tick steps off as Done — progress shows at the top, e.g. “3 of 7”.

Without a date, the plan shows the order but not the actual days: “Set when the cake is for and we’ll show the actual days.”

Into the meal plan

Tap Add to meal plan and the steps land in the Meal planner on the right days. It needs a date (“First set when the cake is for.”). If everything is already there, you’ll see “All steps are already in the plan.”

Shopping

Add the shopping for the whole cake in the planner with To the list — the ingredients of every layer go onto one list.
